Fun times.
Hmm, I've skipped a day of posting. Oh, well. I spent the night at Lander's house yesterday. It was cool, we played a lot of Counter-Strike. Like six hours of Counter-Strike. Then we played some Warcraft III. For a newb, it was really easy to pick up and play, but as understand it, playing online is pretty brutal. We stopped gaming to watch [adult swim] and I spent hours trying to get AMX mod to work on Counter-Strike. I was unsuccessful, but I'm going to try and get it working for the LAN party, cause that would be damn cool. I went to Fry's today and got a new motherboard and graphics card. The motherboard is Gigabyte's new low-end 2004 model Fry's only had one in stock and now I have it. So take that. I got the computer working, but instead of giving me thirty days to register XP started demanding that I register immediately. So I called them up and right before the customer service rep was about to give me the code the phone cut out. I look out the window to see the phone company performing work on the line. So I called back on my mom's cell phone and jumped the hoops with their automated computerized voice. They don't even give you an option to speak with a real person upfront. They only connect you to a rep if it is apparent that you are either a 1. complete idiot, and can't use a touch-tone phone, or 2. if the code you enter doesn't check out and that makes you a pirate (arg). Now, at last, the computer works, after only *two* rebuilds. The Gameboy Movie player arrived today from Hong Kong. Well, sort of arrived. USPS tried to drop it off while I was gone, so they just took it back to the post office and I had to run up there before five. It's a really good product, and at twenty-five bucks a good deal too. My only problem is that it takes a while to encode movies into the proprietary format, and sometimes the sound goes out of synch with the video. But the synching problems can be fixed and the encoding is slow because my machine is getting pokey. I'd give it another six months or so before I'm hurting for a new one, or at least a major upgrade. Now, the last time I posted a flash animation as link of the day I was informed that it was really old. So today I make up in quantity for quality. First up is the French Erotic Film a.k.a. Colin Mochrie vs. Jesus H. Christ. Next is the "Plan 9 From Underpants" I especially enjoy the cheesy 3d effects. To conclude the Trilogy is the aptly titled Colin Mochrie vs. Jesus H. Christ Part 3. This whole series of flash animations is really crazy. The guy who makes them takes foreign songs where the lyrics are being sung in languages that aren't English, but sound as if they *could* be English, you know, if you happen to be drunk. I'm really tired right now so it might just be that anything seems funny to me, but I think you'll find them at least mildly entertaining because there's so much hidden stuff in them they require multiple viewings.
