  Role reversal?
This day in History:
  • 1786 - Shays' Rebellion, an armed uprising of Massachusetts farmers, begins in response to high debt and tax burdens
  • 1896 - Chop suey is invented in New York City
  • 1966 - Last Beatles concert, in San Francisco
Tonight my parents left me and my sister at home and they went to a friend's birthday party. I thought that by this point in my life I would be the one going to parties. Oh well, made burgers for dinner, they were pretty good. I was putting all sorts of stuff in them, like a tomato, red and white onion, and a little ranch dip mix. I felt like the Iron-freaking-chef. Watched the Taekwondo matches on TV. They sucked. The pansies were waring some type of freaking body armor, the guys looked like wrestlers, they kept hugging (not relly, you know that thing I mean where they grapple with each other). Shotokan would be so much better. It's a real martial art. No padding, don't get me wrong it's not like we want to hurt each other, but without padding you are forced not only to focus on scoring points, but also on having control and holding back (because you don't want to injure your opponent). Plus there is a greater versitility to Shotokan than Taekwondo (I never was into the kicking thing, I'm just too slow at kicks for that). I think sensei Mikami spearheaded some sort of effort to get Shotokan into the olympics some years ago. Maybe next time.

My mp3 player is coming apart. A screw fell out of the bottom a week or so ago and I lost it. I need to go the watch shop and see if they have any screws to replace it. I also need to open up the case before that and clean the dust out from under they display. I promise some pictures. Coming soon: Hot mp3 players take it all off! Too hot for TechTV! speaking of mp3's this song as been stuck in my head for some time.

Ana Ng - They Might Be Giants

Make a hole with a gun perpendicular To the name of this town in a desk-top globe Exit wound in a foreign nation Showing the home of the one this was written for My apartment looks upside down from there Water spirals the wrong way out the sink And her voice is a backwards record It's like a whirlpool and it never ends

Ana Ng and I are getting old And we still haven't walked in the glow of each other's majestic presence Listen Ana hear my words They're the ones you would think I would say if there was a me for you

All alone at the '64 World's Fair Eighty dolls yelling "Small girl after all" Who was at the Dupont Pavilion? Why was the bench still warm? Who had been there? Or the time when the storm tangled up the wire To the horn on the pole at the bus depot And in the back of the edge of hearing These are the words the voice was repeating:

Ana Ng and I are getting old And we still haven't walked in the glow of each other's majestic presence Listen Ana hear my words They're the ones you would think I would say if there was a me for you

When I was driving once I saw this painted on a bridge: "I don't want the world, I just want your half"

They don't need me here, and I know you're there (don't need me) Where the world goes by like the humid air (world goes by) And it sticks like a broken record Everything sticks like a broken record Everything sticks until it goes away (it goes home) And the truth is, we don't know anything (don't know)

Ana Ng and I are getting old And we still haven't walked in the glow of each other's majestic presence Listen Ana hear my words They're the ones you would think I would say if there was a me for you

Ana Ng and I are getting old And we still haven't walked in the glow of each other's majestic presence Listen Ana hear my words They're the ones you would think I would say if there was a me for you
