Monday again.
This day in History:
- 1759 - Battle of the Plains of Abraham: British defeat French near Quebec City in the Seven Years' War, known in the United States as the French and Indian War
- 1813 - The British fail to capture Baltimore, Maryland. Turning point in the War of 1812.
- 1985 - The popular Super Mario Bros. video game is released by Nintendo.
It was Monday, what can I say. Went to karate with dad, we worked on a lot of stuff tonight. Knife hand techniques, kata, and that stupid footwork thing that I hate.
Mrs. Miller mentioned today in English that many of us at one point will face an crisis of identity. We will discover for ourselves who we really are. I've never heard such a load of crap. We will always have to define ourselves by association, it is intrinsic to human nature. Someone who identifies themselves merely on their own terms is both self-centered and a fool. We always have and always will be who we are because of who we are associated with. Example: many people call themselves Christians, why? Because they are associated with the Christian church, other Christians, and in a more personal sense, God. To find our identities by looking inside is futile, we must look outside to see who we truly are.
For the next week the LotD will be to other blogs that I've noticed, and read regularly. At the end of the week (permission from the bloggers pending) these blogs will be added to the "links" section. Today's is a blog you may have come across, apparently the
worst weekend of his life made the rounds of the internet a while ago. And it has good reason, it's freaking hilarious. So I give to you
T-Bone Fever.
