Hooray for that stuff...from the sky.
It's raining again. Rain is good. Except when rain knocks out the phone for four hours. Then rain becomes very, very bad. I saw Ocean's 12 on Sunday, it was pretty good. It had a different feel than Ocean's 11. At times I found myself realizing that the best classification for this movie would be "comedy", which is startling if you have ever seen the original Ocean's 11. Also there was a distinct lack of buildup, it pretty much jumped right in. None of that cinematic foreplay. Of course, if you are a living, breathing human being it's fairly safe to assume that you've seen Ocean's 11 and no introduction is necessary (unless, of course, you live in Mongolia. In which case a reasonable assumption can be made that you have never encountered Ocean's 11, or anything involving George Clooney for that matter, truly, an enviable state). Ocean's 12 was good. Not going to win any academy awards, but it was entertaining and that's all I really ask of my $6.50 matinee ticket, fifteen minutes of previews followed by 120 minutes of entertainment. And that the people in front of me don't make out like there's no tomorrow.

Monday I woke up at a hellishly early hour (10:30) to take Kelsey and her friend to the mall. And return the defective sweater my grandmother gave me. Yes, the sweater was defective. It was missing the litter part of the zipper that you pull on to, well, make it zip. They didn't have anymore so I settled on a giftcard. That afternoon I went with some band people to see Meet the Fockers. Two sequels in two days. It was...interesting. The humor felt more forced than in Meet the Parents. It was like they all sat down and said "look, we have to make this movie as funny as possible using cheap one-liners." The father of the bride to be (Burns, was it?) becomes even more demented and neurotic, Greg's parents were just completely off the wall crazy, and Pam disappears for most of the movie. Seriously reduced role compared to Meet the Parents. Anywho, didn't like as much as the first.

LAN party Thursday, for sure.
