God, I'm a geek.
So, I've been reading lots of articles in Scientific American and whatnot about the nature of the Universe. It occured to me that the phrase "center of the universe" that people sometimes use is a misnomer. If you were at the center of the universe, then everything would be running away from you. Also in the phrase "the earth revolves around so and so" if we assume that they keep their same dimentions and just gain enough mass to draw the earth within their gravity well, then it would cause a *drastic* decrease in the radius of the earth's orbit, and the earth would revolve in its current speed around someone standing on it's surface. That would cause the earth to break apart under the nearly unimaginable centrifugal effects (don't say force...its not a force). The other option of course, it that the person who is so important that the world revolves around them is 93,000,000,000 miles away from every other human being. Wow, what a popular guy.
