Mission Trip
I got back from the mission trip about 1 AM on Sunday. It was the best mission trip I've been on so far. The stuff we got to do it felt like we were really helping people. It was so cool I felt that I really grew as a Christian. I've also realized what it means to be a Christian and set apart. I mean some people wear big spikes and dye their hair funny colors in an effort to be diffrent from everyone else. On this mission trip we prayed lying down on the sidewalk, sat down next to homeless people to have conversations with them, and even held communion in the middle of Six Flags Magic Mountain. Doing all that stuff you would think would be embarassing, but it really wasn't. I guess it just reminded me that Christians are supposed to be different, and though some people try to be unique on the outside we are unique on the inside.
So I'm at debate camp right now, my plane got in ok, but I had a hard time trying to find the people who were to meet me. I guess they were just running late. Camp is awesome, and I'm learning a lot about debate. I hope I'll be able to bring something back from this to the team next year (I also hope we HAVE a team next year). I already got something out of it, namely a USB 2.0 flash drive with 256 Megs of storage. They are required for camp. I didn't get any sleep before leaving for cam because I was getting Firefox to run from the USB driveOk, it's taken two days of intermittent computer use to write this and I'm supposed to be doing homework right now in the computer lab, so I'm just going to post it and blog some more later.
